I Elizabeth Davis of the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee being weak of body but sound of mind and memory thanks be to God for it and I acknowledge that it is appointed for all men once to die to make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say, first of all I give my conscience and soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in a Christian burial at the discretion of my executors and as to my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give, devise and dispose of in the following manner and form after all debts due and demand ______. Item I will and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Elizabeth Davis my negro girl name Silla one two year old black filly two young cows two feather beds and their furniture all my kitchen and dresser furniture. Item I do will and bequeath to my son Henry Bishop my Negro boy named Sampson allowing him to pay the one half of the value of the said boy Sampson to my son in law Robert Elliot. Item I do will and bequeath to my son William H. Davis my negro woman named Dolle allowing him pay my son in law John Ervin one half of the value of said negro woman Dolle. I also ordain constitute and appoint my trusted friends John Ervin and Robert Elliott to be my executor this my last will and testament and do acknowledge and make void, dismantle all other and former wills and titlement and legacy and bequeath and executed by me. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 11th day of September eighteen hundred and nine.
