Humphrey, 1981) According to local sources, the two Tackett brothers died during the Civil War. Their deaths occurred while they were hiding from Guerilla soldiers who were "enlisting" recruits. The brothers suffocated, hiding underneath a feather mattress. Families were said to be fearful of the Guerilla soldiers as they often looted livestock, food, and other items from the families. Comments: (Will Updike, 1997) Cemetery was not located, possibly destroyed during trail construction. 1. Tackett MA 3 1863 2. Tackett MA 3 1863
