Contributor's Notes:  This is an Amendment made to the Original "Deed of 
Gift" of Daniel and Sarah Petty Kerr.  I have transcribed it exactly as 
written.

We Daniel Kerr and Sarah Kerr having the write to make amendments to our 
Deed of Gift to our heirs while we are both alive therefore we do make 
the following amendments we having still two heirs to make gifts to to 
make them equal with the balance of our children and this is the two the 
heirs of Amanda J. Kelly and our daughter Elisabeth Poor these for the 
love that we entertain for our daughter & grandchildren we do give to 
them jointly the remainder of our lands being about twelve & one half 
acres be the same more or less it being a timbered lot.  Said lot given 
to them is bounded as follows beginning at a stake & pointers on D.W. 
Kerr land and a corner to Manerva Kerr then with her line & Nancy Kerrs 
line N 81 W 75 1/2 poles to a pine & post oak a corner to Nancy & H. C. 
Kerr then with H.C. Kerrs line S 17 W 16 poles to a stake & pointers 
corner to Sarah Roberts 10 acre timbered lot then with her line S 49 1/2 
E 43 poles to stake and pointers on the back line next J.T. Trotter land 
then with the cause of our old deed N 45 E about 20 poles to a spanish 
oak on the west side of the Big Knobb a corner of our old deed & corner 
to Robert Sneed then with Sneeds line S 80 E 31 poles to a spanish oak a 
corner to D.W. Kerr timbered lot then with said lot N 9 1/2 E 21 poles 
to the Beginning.
This our said last gift is in no wise to alter or change the former 
deeds of gifts but its for the purpose of setting them all as we think 
of equally therefore we do give and grant to our said heirs the said 
lots of lands the titles as made to them against each one of our heirs 
and all other persons what soever and every persons claiming under or 
through no or this our said last Amendment is to Stand for all time to 
come as a final distribution of our landed Estate our heirs from this 
day forward has the full control of the lands and can sell by or manage 
them in any way they please & we just retain our former reservations as 
shown in the first deeds of gifts which is our lifetime support off of 
each heir share in proportion to their quality that is of the proceeds 
of the whole farm we are to have our support and off it this our last 
deed is to be attached to the foregoing and recorded and registered with 
it and every heir has the full write of way to go through to a crop one 
an others lands for the purpose of cultivating or getting timbers or any 
thing else for the lands belonging to the farm to the least prejidice or 
injury to each heir or claimant holding the same this the 2nd day of 
August 1872.
