taken from the Civil War Pension Application file of Michael D.Shults, who 
served in Company K, 9th and 11th Volunteer Cavalry Regiments (Union 
Army), as received from the National Archives, Washington D.C.

This is a correct copy of the old original Family record as our Father
P.W.Shults Sr. kept on a large Sheept of writing paper.
P.W.Shults Sr. was bornd Jan.the 5th 1814. Anna Duggan now Anna Shults
was bornd Oct.the 4th 1818. They was Maried Nov.the 11th 1836 - births
of children bornd to them - Mary E.Shults was bornd Feb.the 24th 1838,
Barbara M.Shults was bornd May the 1st 1840, Michael D.Shults was bornd
January 26th 1842, Daniel A.Shults was bornd Nov.the 18th 1843, 
Archibald M.Shults was bornd Feb.the 24th 1846, Sarah K.Shults was 
bornd May the 1st 1848, Pleasant W.Shults was bornd Nov.the 25th 1849,
David A.P.Shults was bornd Dec.the 18th 1851, Anna Shults was bornd 
Feb.the 1st 1854, Philip W.H.Shults was bornd Aug.the 18th 1856, Thomas
F.Shults was bornd Nov.22,1857, Wilson Shults was bornd Oct.the 14th
1858.
We Michael D.Shults & Pleasant W.Shults Certify that the above record
is a true copy of the births and dates as it appears on the Family
record which our Father kept.

State of Tennessee County of Sevier}
Personaly appeared before me J.J.Canupp a Notary Public in and for 
above said County in the State of Tenn. Michael D.Shults did depose and
say according to the family record of his father which was kept by my
father on a sheet of large writeing paper and the said record show that
Michael D.Shults was bornd January 26th 1842 and the above record does
not have any appearence of any alterations or erasure on it.
We Michael D.Shults and P.W.Shults Jr. do hereby Solmnly affirm that 
the above record is the same our father kept and give to P.W.Shults and
the Statements truly to the best of our knowledge and beliefe.
