The Knoxville Journal and Tribune, Tuesday 21 Mar 1905, p. 5: 
DYKES.- William Dykes, a farmer who lived near Boyd's Creek, died at ten o'clock

Sunday night at his home at the age of seventy-one years. The deceased leaves a

widow and eight children. The funeral will occur at ten o'clock Tuesday morning

at Seven Islands. Interment will be in the church yard there.

Additional Comments:
William Dykes was a son of Isham (Isom) Dykes, who was possibly a native of VA.

William married Sara (or Catherine) Bales and had several children, including

Rachel Caroline Dykes, who married William Henry Creswell.
