The cemetery is at the eastern wall of the Piggly Wiggly supermarket, in the back, surrounded by a brick wall.
A Historical Marker by the Memphis Sesquincentennial Inc. is in front of the cemetery. "Bettis Family Cemetery -
Here was the farm of the Tillmann Bettis family, the second to settle on the Memphis Bluff after the 1818 treaty,
even before the town was laid off, Mary Bettis was the first child born in the new settlement."
