Family names mentioned on the marked graves are Aydelott, Gillespie, Herring, Horne, Land, Lynn, McClelland, Marshall, Neely, McQuinn, Sturges and Starling. (Source: Downing, Sirley; "Old cemetery bears history"; Commercial Appeal, Memphis; July 16, 1992; Section N) Status November 2007: In 2007 the remainder of the cemetery is located at the end of a cul-de-sac in the center of a turnaround, measuring approximately 30 yards across, surrounded by an asphalt road. The location of the remaining graves is in a future subdivision named "The Preserve". Of the 51 marked graves reported in 1992 only eight remain in 2007. In the area that had been reported to contain unmarked early graves, future home building sites are marked around the turnaround. Directions: The cemetery is located about 25 miles east of Memphis, one mile north of Interstate 40 (I-40) exit 20, in Lakeland, Shelby County. From I-40 take exit 20 (Lakeland) and go north. After 200 yards turn right (east) onto Huff Puff Rd and follow that road for half a mile, then turn left (north) onto Seed Tick Rd. After 300 yards turn left (west) into a sub-division named "The Preserve". At the intersection go straight ahead until the end. The cemetery is located in the center of the turnaround.
