Parents. Wulf Lazarus Sa(u)nders was born in 1842, Mitau(Jelgava), Latvia and arrived in Memphis shortly after the civil war. The ship he was travelling on, which was en route to Panama, was attacked by the Confederate raider, the "Alabama". Wulf got work as a bookkeeper to a store keeper by the name of Franklin or Frankland. Lena Lasky(Lasowski), was Mrs. Franklin's niece. "State of Tennessee, Shelby County" - Marriage Licence. W.L.
