SMITH COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - Tennessee Land Grant to James Gibson, 3 May 1814 ----¤¤¤---- Tennessee General Land Grant TSLA roll #31, Book G, page 722 "722 Recorded May 3, 1814 The State of Tennessee No. 5561 To all to whom these presents shall come, GREETING: KNOW YE, THAT by virtue of part of Certificate No. 1215 dated September 17th 1812 issued by the Register of West Tennessee to Bennet Henderson, and entered on the 23rd day of October 1812 by No. 9287. There is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto James Gibson Assignee of the said Bennet Henderson A Certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing ninety two acres, lying in Smith County, in the first District, and on the head of Dixons Creek ­ Beginning at a buck South East corner of a Survey of one hundred and fifty acres Granted to Phillip Setton Running East crossing a branch, in all one hundred and twenty four poles to two Sugartrees, thence North one hundred eighteen and a half poles to a Sugartree, thence West crossing two forks of said branch one hundred and twenty four poles to three beeches in said Settonšs East boundary line thence South one hundred eighteen and a half poles to the Beginning ­ Surveyed the fifth of June 1813 by John Murrey D.S. With the hereditaments and appurtenances, to have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land with the appertenances to the said James Gibson and his heirs forever. In witness whereof Willie Blount Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the great seal of the state to be affixed at Nashville on the third of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen and of the Independence of the United State the thirty eighth.
