Gibson, 21 Jan 1825 ----¤¤¤---- Recorded June 8th 1825 The State of Tennessee No. 771 [?] To all to whom these presents shall come, GREETING: Know ye, that for and in consideration of the sum of twelve and one half cents per acre, paid into the office of the Entry taker of Smith county, and entered on the 5th day of July 1824, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of said state, passed on the 22d day of November, 1823, by No. 1645 There is granted by the said State of Tennessee, unto James W. Gibson A certain tract or parcel of land, containing forty five acres by survey bearing date the 25th day of October 1824, lying in said county on the waters of Dixons Creek [on that head of the Sugar Cane branch] and bounded as follows to wit Beginning on an [?] Archibald Wilkinsons south west corner and on William Hargessı north boundary lines Running [hence] west crossing said Gibsonıs Spring [Š] ninety poles to a [..] oak, John Johnson south west corner of his ninety three acres tract Thence north with said Johnsonıs east boundary eighty poles to two sugar trees and a hackberry, said Johnsonıs north east corner. Thence east ninety poles to a [ ] on said Wilkersonıs west boundary, Thence [south?] with the same eighty poles to the beginning. With the hereditaments and appertenances. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said tract or parcel of land with its appertenances to the said James W. Gibson his heirs forever. In witness whereof William Carroll Governor of the state of Tennessee, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the great seal of the state to be affixed at Murfreesborough on the 21st day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five and of the Independence of the United States, the 49th.
