His name appears on the 1832 list as a resident of Smith County and in the 1840 Census as of De Kalb County. He was born in Sussex County. N. J., in 1758 and was the son of Johannes and Catherine Fite. He enlisted in Essex County and served in the N. J., line. He married Martha Haslet. He died in 1848.
