There were twelve charter members: Pisgah, Little Emory, Big Spring, Sweet Water, Hopewell, Luminary, Beach Fork of Emery, Bullock Penn., Shiloh, Eastern Alabama, Zion Hill, and Tennessee. The first annual meeting was held a Big Emory Baptist Church in Roane County. One new church was added, Concord, making 13 churches from Roane,Monroe, Rhea, McMinn, Morgan and Bradley Counties. 1824 The second annual meeting was held at Big Spring Meeting House in McMinn County on Friday before the first Saturday in August, 1824 Elder Micah Sellers delivered an introductory sermon. Letters from twelve churches were read. The Association appointed Elder George Snider, Moderator and Moses McSpadden, Clerk. Names in the Minutes William Wood, Gideon Ragland, Evin Jones, Richard Wood, Jesse Merser, Eli Cleveland, George Snider, Thomas Morrison, Daniel Briggs, Arnold Moss, Samuel Short John F. Henderson. Next Association set to be held at Hopewell Meeting House, Monroe County; to commence on the Friday before the fourth Saturday in October, 1825. William Wood to preach the introductory sermon and in case of failure, brother Daniel Briggs to supply. 500 copies of the minutes "printed by J. Howard, at the 'Hickory Press,' Cumberland Street, two doors east of the post office, where all orders for printing will be thankfully received and and promptly executed." Hickory Press was in Knoxville. 1828 Held at Pisgah Meeting House in Rhea County (Hiwassee District) on the Friday before the fourth Saturday in September, 1828. Elder Eli Cleveland delivered the introductory sermon. Letters from 25 churches were read. Sewell, Robert Newman Bullock Pen - Wm Kirk, Thomas Harris 1830 The association agreed to divide the association district and that "all East of the line is given to constituted as a new Association." They also agreed to hold a convention on the "fourth Saturday of November next, at Sweetwater meeting house, for the purpose of forming a constitution and organizing the new Association. Brothers William Wood and Daniel Buckner to receive the contribution from the churches. "...the next Association to be held at Goodfield meeting house, Rhea County, to commence on the Friday before the third Saturday in September next and appoint Joseph J. Monger to preach the introductory Sermon and in case of failure, George Luttrel.
