Called for report on Digest of Letters; read, adopted and committee discharge. REPORT We, your committee on digest of letters, make the following report: We find that there has been quite a falling off in the number of conversions and baptisms, and a great decline in the spiritual power and efficiency of our church during the past year. Eleven churches only report twenty-one baptisms as against fifty-eight last year; a decline of thirty-seven. Brethren, this only represents two and one-tenth additions from all our churches by experience and baptism. At this rate how long will it take us to reach and save the one million souls that are lost in Tennessee. Brethren, pray ye, the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth more laborers into his vineyards for the harvest truly is great and the laborers are few. Signed by the committee. Z.T. Manis, J.A. Roberson 7th. Called for report on Finance; read, adopted and committee discharged. Whaley, was born September 27th, 1844, professed faith in Christ and joined the Baptist Church at Concord on the second Saturday in November, 1870, and lived a consistent christian life; prompt to attend church meetings and always liberal with her means. She died in the full triumph of living faith on the 16th day of August, 1917. Old Friendship One by one we are gathering home. Sister Amanda J. Stinecipher was born March 4th, 1877; united in marriage with A.J. Stinecipher Jan 5th, 1893; died March 18th, 1917, at the age of 40 years and 14 days. She leaves surviving her a kind husband and two children. She gave herself to Jesus at the age of 15 years, and joined the church at Old Friendship in Oct. 1905, and was a faithful and consistent member until her death. She bore her afflictions with christian fortitude, and always greeted her friends with a pleasant smile and a kind word, but on that eventful 18th of March, just as the sun was casting his silver rays of light o'er the eastern hills, God in His infinite wisdom called away the gentle, loving spirit of Sister Stinecipher from her earthly suffering to that home that awaits His children. The funeral services were held at the church on the 19th, conducted by her pastor, Rev. P.R. Brown. By the Church Clerk FELLOWSHIP OBITUARIES FOR ASSOCIATION YEAR, 1917 It is with sad hearts that we the members composing the church at Fellowship have had to record the death of four of our beloved members, not previously reported, three of which have died during this Associational year, and one died last year, to wit: Sister F.G. Riggs, who was born July 26th, 1839, and died, 1916. Sister Riggs joined the Baptist church at Bush Harbor, Caswell county, N.C., when she was 17 years old; joined the Fellowship church by letter in August 1885. Sister Amanda Gates Scott was born May 6th, 1896, died December 2nd, 1916. Joined Fellowship church by experience and baptism 1st Saturday in July, 1912. Sister Hannah Catherine Thomas was born November 4th, 1846, and died April 1st, 1917; joined Fellowship church by experience and baptism 1st Saturday in September, 1896. Bro. R.A. Jones was born June 26, 1846, and died July 1st, 1917; joined Fellowship church by experience and baptism 1st Saturday in February, 1890. We are again reminded that the old, middle-aged and the young are liable to the call and while we are made sad at their departure, we do not have to sorrow as others that have no hope; for we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even to them also, which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
