All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sloan Mason http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00022.html#0005225 October 21, 2021, 8:22 pm Written: March 10, 1806 Recorded: March 1806 Stewart County, TN Bk. 1, p. 61 10 March 1806 Deed from Atherington ROCHEL to Martin WELLS, both of Stewart Co., TN (this is transcribed wrong耀hould read Martin WELLS to Atherington ROCHEL) No. 55 Deed from Atherington ROCHEL to Martin WELLS for 411 Acres of Land This Indenture made the 10th day of March in the year of our Lord 1806 between Martin WELLS of the State of Tennessee and County of the one part and Anthony (should be Atherington) ROCHEL of the aforesaid State and county of the other part witnesseth that the said 覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧 to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hat and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enforce and confirm unto the said Atherington ROCHEL his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing 111 acres of land lying and being in the county of Stewart on Guices Creek it being a part of a 500 acre tract formerly the property of Charles THOMPSON and Hardy VALENTINE. Beginning at said THOMPSON and VALENTINES south east corner running north with said line 86 poles to a dogwood, thence 154 poles to a dogwood and elm, thence south 40 poles to a dogwood and black gum, thence 98 poles to a dogwood, thence 46 poles to a dogwood and whiteoak in the south boundary of the said 500 acre tract, thence east with said line 252 poles to the beginning, with all and singular the woods water courses profits commodities hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of land belonging or appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders, rents and issues thereof and all the estate interest property claim and demand of him the said WELLS his heirs etc., of in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof either in law or equity. To have and to hold the said ROCHEL his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful title claim and demand of all and every person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Martin WELLS hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
