SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - State of North Carolina to Joseph Cole Sr. ----¤¤¤---- Sullivan Co., TN, DB 2, p. 419: State of North Carolina to Joseph Cole Sr. Transcribed by Robert Keyes Dec 2, 2004 Source: LDS FHL film #972705 State of North Carolina No. 515 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres of Land hereby granted paid into our treasury by Joseph Cole Senr have given & granted & by these presents do give & grant unto the sd Joseph Cole Senr a tract of land contain ing three hundred & sixty three acres lying & being in our County of Sul livan on beaver Creek a Branch of holston River beginning on the North side of the Creek at a black oak & running thence South twen ty three East twenty poles to a stake South Five East ninety eight poles to a white oak by a road South thirty East one hundred & thir ty Six poles to a hickory North twenty east Sixty six poles to a Black oak North fifty two east two hundred & forty poles to a Black oak & white oak Abraham McClantin corner & with his line North ninety poles to a Black oak & white Oak North fourteen West for ty six poles to a white oak & walnut by the Creek and down the meanderes of the same one hundred & fifty eight poles to a hickory & black oak thence a straight line down said Creek to the begin ing as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances to the sd land belonging or appertaining to hold to the sd Joseph Cole Senr heirs & assigns forever yielding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the sd Joseph Cole Senr shall cause this grant to be registered in the Registers Office of our sd Coun ty of Sullivan within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect in testimony whereof we have caused these our Letters to be made Patent & our great Seal to be here unto affixed Witness Smuel Johnston Esquire our governor Captain general & Commander in chief at Fayattevile the twenty seventh of November in the fourteenth year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eithty nine By his Excellcy Com'd Saml Johnston J Glasgow Secretary March 4 day 1790 Reg'd ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
