Keyes Jan 9, 2005 Source: FHL film# 972707 This Indenture made this twentieth Day of February in the year one thousand Eight hundred and nine Between Elisabeth Spurgin Administratrix of the Estate of John Spurgin deceased and George Webb Administrator of said Estate both of Sullivan County and State of Tennessee of the one part and Thomas Cox of said County and State of the other part Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the sum of Five hundred Dollars by him the said Thomas Cox paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknow ledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain Sell and Convey unto him the said Thomas Cox and to his heirs and Assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land contain ing one hundred and ninety four Acres be the same more or less lying and being in the said County of Sullivan and State aforesaid and bounded as follows beginning at a Black Oak and White oak Jennings Corner thence South fifty Eight degrees East one hundred and Eighteen poles to a Chesnut thence South forty degrees West two hundred poles to two Black oaks thence North forty five De grees West one hundred and twelve poles to two poplars a Corner of Jacob Ladys thence North twenty nine degrees East fifty two poles to a Chesnut thence North forty five West one hundred and forty poles to a white oak and Locust thence a straight line to the begin ing.
