Keys Jan 9, 3005 Source: LDS FHL film #972705 State of North Carolina No. 635 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid unto our treasury by Elijah Cross have given & granted & by these presents do give & grant unto the sd Elijah Cross a tract of land containing three hundred & seventy acres lying & being in our County of Sullivan on the waters of Beaver Creek including the E Crossess plantation beginning at Abraham McCalans corner black oak & white oak then along his line South 36 East 160 poles to two white oak & hickory then on Joseph Wallaces line which is a conditional line between Sd Cross & Wallace South 34 East 36 poles to a post? oak? then South 44 West 123 poles to a forked spanish oak then South 23 West 44 poles to a black oak then South 51 West 104 poles to two black on Edward Coxs line then on his line North 63 West 14 poles to a corner Chestnut then on his line South 45 West 90 poles to a spanish oak then on Benjamin Cross orphans line North 58 West 80 poles to a stake George Malones line then on his line along a high ridge North 36 East 70 poles to a stake then on Sd line North 12 West 54 poles to a hickory then on Joseph Coles line North 20 East 66 poles to a black then straight line to the begining as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods water mines minerals her edetaments & appurtenances to the said belonging or appertain ing to hold to the Sd Elijah Cross his heirs & assigns for ever yielding & paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct pro vided always that the Sd Elijah Cross shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers office of our Sd County of Sullivan within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void & of no effect in testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent witness Rich'd Dobbs Spraight Esq our governor Captain general & commander in chief at Newbern the ninth day of July and in the 19 year of our in dependence & in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hun dred & ninety four By his Excelly.
