Keyes Jan 9, 2005 Source: LDS FHL Film# 972707 This Indenture made the 25th of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and ten between David Webb of the one part and Zachariah Cross and Elijah Cross Junior of the other part each of Sullivan County and State of Tennessee. Witnesseth that the said David Webb for a valuable con sideration the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and by these presents have given and granted unto the said Zachariah Cross and Elijah Cross and to their heirs &c for ever a certain tract or parcel of land Containing two hundred and ninety acres be the same more or less said land lying and being in the County aforesaid and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a forked chesnut on Weavers line thence South fifty degrees East seventy eight poles to a forked poplar thence South forty five degrees East two hundred and twenty two poles to a Red oak thence joining Thomas Smallings line north sixty one degrees East one hundred and twenty nine poles to a Spanish oak and White Oak thense north twenty seven degrees West two hundred and sixty poles to a post oak and Hickory sapling thence a direct line to the Beginning To have and to hold the said granted premises with the appurtenances to the said Zachariah Cross and Elijah Cross and to their heirs & for ever and that the said Zachariah Cross and Elijah Cross Shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents lawfully peaceably and quitly have , hold, use, occupy, possess, and enjoy the said granted premis es free and clear from all former gifts and grants or any thing that might obstruct or make void this present deed and I the said David Webb for myself my heirs &c do warant and forever defend every part and parcel of the above mentioned land with the appurtenances unto the said Zachariah Cross and Elijah Cross and to their heirs &c for ever against the lawful claims or demands of any person or persons what Soever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year first above written Signed sealed and delivered in presence of John Anderson Ek'l Key John Jennings David Webb (seal) [NOTE: see also Sullivan Co., TN DB 1, p. 44] ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
