Keyes Jan 9, 2005 Source: FHL film# 972707 This Indenture made this 19th day of August 1811 between George Greenaway of the one part and Nicholas Martin of the other part both of Sullivan County and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that the said George Greenaway for and in consideration of the sum of thirty six dollars and seventy five cents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and by these presents have bargained and sold in fee simple and confirmed unto the said Nicholas Martin and to his heirs &c for ever a certain tract or parcel of land containing twelve acres and a quarter be the same more or less said land situated in the County aforesaid to wit Beginning at a Hickory and double spanish oak near the land of Solomon Smith thence North six degrees East twelve poles and eighteen links to a white oak and two sourwood saplings then North twenty degrees West six poles to two oaks thence North sixty five degrees East seventy four poles to a poplar Chesnut and Hickory on Joseph Greenaways line thence along the same South two degrees East forty poles to his corner two White Oak thence a direct line to the Begining to have and to hold the said granted and Bargain ed primises with all the appurtenances privilegs and commodities to the same Belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Nicholas Martin and to his heirs and Assigns forever against the lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons Whatsoever In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above writ ten George Greenway (seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of John Anderson Joseph Greenway State of Tennessee Sullivan County at august session 1811 The Execution of this deed is acknowledged in open court by George Green away party thereto let it be registerd (21st August 1811) Test.
