Keyes Jan 11, 2005 Source: FHL Film# 972708 This Indenture made and entered into this 2'd day of April One thousand eight Hundred and nineteen Between George Green= way of the one part and Henry Massengill Sr of the other part both of the County of Sullivan and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that the said George Greenway for and in consideration of the sum of Sixteen Hundred and Forty Six dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hearby acknowledge hath bargained and sold unto the said Henry Massengill a certain tract or parcel of land in the County of Sullivan on the South side of Holston River and bounded as follows towit Beginning at four Hickory Saplings corner of Sd Massengill thence with his line South eighty eight degrees East Two Hundred and Forty poles to a Dogwood Hicory and Beach thence along Joseph Greenways line South two degrees East One Hundred and Forty eight poles to a Poplar Hicry and Chesnut corner of Nicholas Motton line, thence with said line South Sixty four degrees West Seventy four poles to two White Oaks corner of said Motton, thence North Twenty degrees West eighteen poles and seven links to a White Oak corner of Geo Greenways, thence West One Hundred and Sixty seven poles to a Forked Chestnut thence with Webbs line to the Beginning containing Two hundred and Fifteen Acres and three fourths be the same more or less To Have and to hold with all its hereditaments and apperta= nances unto the same belonging and the said Greenway doth for him self his heirs or assigns for ever warrant and defend a good and lawful right and title to the said Henry Massengill and his heirs for ever to the aforesaid Track or parcel of land from all persons claiming whatever In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and Seals this day and date first above written Signed Sealed and delivered in Presence of his Andrew Shell, John + Smith George Greenway (seal) mark Rachel Greenway (seal) State of Tennessee Court of Pleas &c At November Sess 1819 Sullivan County The execution of the within Deed of conveyance was acknowledged in open Court by George Greenway and Rachel Greenway parties thereto Subscribed Let it be Registered Test M Rhea Clk Reg 16th July 1820 By his Deputy J C Rhea [Note: see also Geo.
