Keyes Jan 31, 2005 Source: LDS FHL film #972705 This Indenture Made this Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty between Frederick Keiler of the one part & Able Edwards of the other part both of Sullivan County & State of North Carolina witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five pounds current money of said State to him the sd Frederick Keiller well & truely in hand paid at or before the sealing & Delivering of these presents the Receipt whereof the sd Frederick Keiller Doth herby acknowledge have bargained & sold in fee simple & confirmed unto the sd Able Edwards his heirs Exe'tr, Adm'rs and assigns for ever acertain tract or parcel of Land containing two hundred and sixty acres more or less lying & being in the County of Sullivan on the South side of Holston River including the plantation where said Edwards now Lives and bounded as follows viz Begining at a white oak & buckeye on the bank of the River & up the meanders of the same 388 poles to a beach Vandeveners Corner and with his line S°13 E 151 poles to a hicory and white oak George Grumblys Corner & with his line S°75W 37 poles to a buckeye & white walnut by a path Due west 61 poles to a black oak & two Dogwood on the top of a Ridge S63W 32 poles to three Dogwoods on a hill side S45W 50 poles to three gums S80°W 96 poles to a stake on Weavers Line thence a straight line to the Begining together with all houses fences ways waters water courses ???? & all other appertenances thereunto belonging with all Rents & Reversions of Rent & all other the estate Right & title that may now or forever after appertain to the same free from all hindrance of any person whatever Lawfully Claiming the same To have and to hold all & singular the aforesaid Lands & premises with every part & parcel there of from all Incumbrance of mortgage Dowers and Reversions by or from me the said Frederick Keiller or any other persons whatsoever and to be to the only use of him the said Able Edwards his heirs Ex'r Adm's & assigns forever and Lastly I the said Frederick Keiller Do hereby promise covenant and agree to and with the sd Able Edwards his heirs Ex'rs Adm's & assigns that I have full and the only Right title and Lawfull authority to sell & convery the aforesaid Land & premises & will at any time at the Reasonable Request and proper charge of him the said Able Edwards make any other conveyance or assureance that shall be by Law Required to pass the fee simple estate of the aforesaid Land and premises from me the said Frederick Keiller to him the said Able Edwards his heirs Ex'r Adm's and assigns for ever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the Day and year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presents of Frederick Keiller (seal) Matt.
