SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - Edward King to his son John King, 16 Sep 1788 ----¤¤¤---- Tennessee State Library and Archives County: Washington County, NC (Sullivan County, TN) Roll No. 31 Book: 1 May 1775 – 1789 Page: 351-352 This indenture Made this Sixteenth Day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and eighty eight between Edward King of the State of North Carolina and Washington County of the one part and in consideration of the Love good will and affection which he the Said Edward King hath and do bear toward his dutifull and well beloved Son John King of the State and County aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Edward King have given and granted & by these presents Do freely give & Grant unto the said John King his heirs Executors Adm, mss assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the State & County afore sd on the north side of Wataughah River being part of a tract of Land Conveyed to the sd Edward King from John Newlon Beginning at a white oak Near sd River marked thus J: B: thence North eighty one Degrees East eight two Poles to two Dead trees amish oak & walnut Robert Alisons Line thence north thirty five Degrees west one hundred and sixty poles to a white oak thence sought eight west eight one poles to white oak & Dogwood thence South three Degrees last one hundred & nine poles to a gum thence north eighty seven Degrees east twenty poles to a stake thence south eighty Degrees west twenty Poles to a black thence South three degrees east ninety six poles to a stake near the River thence up the meanders of the River to the beginning together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appertenances to the land belonging on or appertaining to hold to the sd John King & his heirs and assigns forever which tract and parcel of land be the said Edward King and his heirs Doth hereby warrant and forever defend from the lawful claims of any other heirs or persons whatever and from the lawful claim or claims of any other of his heirs the said Edward Kings heirs or assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John King his heirs and assigns forever in testimony whereof he the said Edward King doth warrant set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
