SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - State of North Carolina to Edward King ----¤¤¤---- Sullivan Co., TN, DB 4, p. 825: State of North Carolina to Edward King Transcribed by Robert Keyes Feb 2, 2005 Source: LDS FHL film #972706 State of North Carolina No. 154 To all to whome these presents shall Come greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres here by granted paid in to our Treasury by Edward King have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Edward King a tract of land Containing six hundred and forty acres lying and being in our County of Washington on the not th side of Watauga River near the head of Lick Creek or branch joining the land formerly Jessee Beams now John Newlins Begining at a hickory on the River said Newlins Corner and Runes with his line north ten degrees East two hundred and twen ty four poles to a white oak Newlins Corner then with another of his linis north eighty degrees west one hundred and ninety poles to a white oak his corner then north fifty four East Seventy poles to a walnut north on Greggs Corner thence with his line west two hund red and fifty six poles to his corner thence along another of his lines north one hundred and sixty poles thence west to Lick Creek or Branch thence the various cou rses of the said Creek or Branch to watauga River the nce up the meanders of the River to the Begining as by the plat hereunto anaxed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appertainances to the said Belonging or appertai ning to hold to the said Edward King his heirs and ass igns forever yielding and paying to us such sumes of money yearly or other wise as our General asse mbly from time to time may direct Provided always that the said Edward King shall cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers office of our said County of Washington within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect in testimoney whereof we have caused our great seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Alexander Martin Esquire our govenor Captain General and Commander in Chief at Fairfield the twenty fourth day of october in the Seventh year of our independance and in the ye ar of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty two By his Excellency Com'd Alex Martin J Glasgow Sec Registered 1th May 1807 Ex'd W.A. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
