Keyes Jan 9, 2005 Source: FHL film# 972707 State of North Carolina No. 1056 To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred Acres hereby Granted paid into our treasury by Samuel and Joseph McKorkell have given and Granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Samuel and Joseph McCorkell a tract of land containing five hundred and twenty acres Lying and being in our county of washington on the south side of Holston river at a place known by the name of Choats Ford beginning at a Beach and maple on the south bank of said River and thence south one Hundred and sixty poles to a white oak on Benjamin Webbs line thence north Eighty East on said Webbs line Three Hundred and forty poles to a white oak thence North one Hundred and seventy poles to a stake on the Bank of River near the lower end of an Island and thence down the meanders of the river to the Begining as by the Plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals Heredit aments and Appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to Hold to the said Samuel & Joseph McCorkill his heirs or assigns forever yeilding and paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may Direct. Provided always that the said Samuel and Joseph McCorkill shall cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers Office of our said County of Washington within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect. In testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made Patent and our Great seal to be hereunto affixed.
