SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - State of North Carolina to John Wert Miller ----¤¤¤---- Sullivan Co., TN, DB 2, p. 723: State of North Carolina to John Wert Miller Transcribed by Robert Keyes Feb 5, 2005 Source: LDS FHL film #972705 State of North Carolina No. 576 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that we for & in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our trea sury by John Wert Miller have given & granted & by these presents do give & grant unto the sd John Wert Miller a tract of land containing one hundred & fifty acres lying & being in our County of Sullivan including a small spring by a large rock begining at a pine tree on George Emmert Sen'r line then south 17 deg'r East 36 poles to Daniel Hughes Corner white oak then with his line South 17 deg'r East 196 poles to his corner white oak then North 55 deg'r East ninety? poles to a stake then north 4 poles to George Emmert Jun'r corner pine tree then with his line North 192 poles to a pine tree then a straight line to the be gining as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments & appurtenances to the sd land belonging or appertaining to hold to the sd John Wert Miller his heirs & assigns forever yealding & paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our genearal assembly from time to time may direct pro vided always that the sd John Wert Miller shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers office of our sd Coun ty of Sullivan within the time limited by law otherwise the the same shall be void & of no effect in testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent & our great seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard Dobbs Spaight Esquire our governor Captain general & commander in chief at Newbern the 27 day of June & in the 17 year of our Independence & in the eyar of our Lord one thou sand seven hundred & ninety three By his Excellcy 's Comm'd Rich'd Dobbs Spaight J Glasgow Secretary December 29th day 1794 then Reg's Ex'd.
