This Indenture Made this Eigth Day of September in the year of our 
Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven between Wm Scoot of Sullivan 
County and State of North Carolina of the one part & William McKinley of the 
County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Wm Scott 
for and In consideration of the sum of sixty pounds good and lawfull money 
of the State afore said paid to him in hand by the Sd William McKinley 
the Recipt whereof he the said Wm Scott Doth hereby acknowledge hath 
Granted Bargained and Sold & by these presents Doth grant bargain and 
Sell Alien Convey & Confirm unto the said Wm McKinley his heirs and as
signs for ever a certain tract or parcel of Land Containing three hundred 
acres situate lying & being in the County & State aforesaid Begining above 
the Good Gap at a large black oak near the gap of a ridege then on Nancy Chotes 
line South forty five West two hundred & fifty pole to a white oak north 
forty five West forty pole to a stake then north twenty six west one hundred 
& sixty four pole crossing hogans Branch to a stake thence north thirty 
four East two hundred & seventy pole to a post on Robert Sellers 
line thence along his line Due east one hundred & twenty pole to his 
Corner white oak thence on John Nalls line Due South one hundred and 
fifty pole to a stake thence Due east sixty one pole to the begining toge
ther with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and apperten
ances to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the Wm 
Mckinley his heirs & assigns forever which said tract or parcel of Land 
with all and singular the appertainances there to belonging or appertaining 
he the said Wm Scott Doth warrant and forever Defend unto the 
said Wm McKinley his heirs and assigns forever from all and every person 
or persons laying any just & lawfull claim to the same from by or under him 
& from by or under any of my heirs Executors Administrators or assigns in and Every Case 
whatsoever and In testimony whereof he the said Wm Scott hath hereunto 
set his hand and affixed his seal the Day & year above written
