Keyes Jan 18, 2005 Source: LDS FHL film #972705 State of North Carolina No 123 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres here by granted paid into our treasury by Arnold Shell have given and granted & [inserted line above] and By these presents do give and grant [end insert] unto the sd Arnold Shell a tract of Land Containing two hun dred acres lying and being in our County of Sullivan the south side of Holston river Begining at a forked Walnut then south forty three East one hundred and forty poles to a pine then south seventeen degrees East one hundred and ninty eight poles to a White oak then south eigh ty eighty east sixty poles to a hickory thence north thirty West eighty poles to a pine thence north four Degrees West three hundred and sixty poles to a pine thence north seventy eight West thirty eight poles to a red oak then south thirty seven west one hundred and eighty poles to the Begining as by the plat hereunto annaxed doth appear toge ther with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments and appur tenances to the sd Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Arnold Shell his heirs and assigns forever yealding and paying to us such sums of mony yearly or otherwise as our Gene ral assembly from time to time may direct provided allways that the sd Arnold Shell shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers office of our sd County of Sullivan within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void and of none effect In testimony whereof we have caused our great seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Alexander Martin Esq'r our Gove nor Capten General and Commander in Cheif at Fairfield the twenty third day of October in the seventh year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty two By his Excllys Comm'd Alex Martin J Glasgow Sec [See also Arnold Shell to Edward Cox DB 3-270; Arnold Shell to Wm Wirick DB 3-54] ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
