SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - DEEDS - State of North Carolina to Christian Weaver ----¤¤¤---- Sullivan Co., TN, DB 2, p. 381: State of North Carolina to Christian Weaver Transcribed by Robert Keyes Dec 2, 2004 Source: LDS FHL film #972705 State of North Carolina No. 502 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred Acres of Land hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Christian Weaver have given & Granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the Sd Christian Weaver a tract of land containing three hundred acres lying & being in our County of Sullivan on Underwoods branch the waters of Holston River beginning at two white oaks & sowerwood corner to John Scott & runing with the lines there of South fifty six East nineteen poles to a hickory South forty two East seventy three poles to a stake North thirty six degrees East fifty poles to a Poplar South fifty six & a half degrees East one hundred & seventy six poles to two black oaks north thirty six degrees East eighty four poles to a red oak & white oak North nineteen East thirty six poles to two Hickorys North thirty three & half East for ty poles to a Hickory North eleven & half West twenty five poles to a hickory & white oak north thirty eight & half east forty poles to three Hickorys corner to Jonathan Web and with his line North forty eight & half West one hundred & thirty poles to a stake South sixty three West eighty five poles to a white oak on John Scotts line South forty nine West eighty six poles to a white oak South forty one West twenty six poles to two Sower woods Sou th sixty three & half West ninety seven poles to the Beginning as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals heredetaments appurtenances to the sd land belonging or appertaining to hold to the Sd Christi an Weaver his heirs and assigns for ever yielding & paying to us such sums of money yearly or otherwise as our general assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the Sd Christian Weaver shall cause this grant to be Registered in the Registers office of our Sd County of Sullivan within twelve [months] from the date hereof otherwise the same shal be void and of no effect in Testimony whereof we have caused these our Letters to be made Patent & our great [seal] to be herenuto affixed Witness Samuel John ston Esquire our governor Captain general and Commander in Chief at Edenton the eighten day of May in the XIII th year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousnad seven hundred and eighty nine By his Excelly Com'd Sam Johnston W Williams D Sec.
