Keyes Jan 10, 2005 Source: FHL film# 972707 The State of Tennessee Number 1576 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting know ye that in consideration of an entry made in the office of the surveyer of the sixth District of Number one hundred and sixty four dated the fifteenth day of October eighteen hundred and eight founded on a duplicate warrant of Number 495 Issued by Archibald Roane to Job Key for six hundred and forty acres of Land dated the ninth day of February eighteen Hun =dred and eight one hundred and eighty acres of which are assigned by said Job Key to Jonathan Webb the enterer there is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto the said Jonathan Webb and his heirs a certain tract or parcell of Land containing one hundred eighty Acres lying in the county of Sullivan in the District of Washington on the south side of Holston River being an occupant claim Begining at three chesnut oaks on or near a conditional line between said Webb and Leo =nard Hart thence south 44 poles to a large Chesnut Corner of a former Survey of said Webb then north sixty four east four hundred and eighty six poles to a single and double white oak north ninety two poles to a sugar tree and trace wood on the river bank thence down the meanders of the same South seventy five West 64 poles to a poplar and white wal =nut on the bank of of said river thence down the same north eighty three west 40 poles to two gum and a beech thence leaving the river south 46 poles to three white oaks and a black oak on corner said conditional line thence a straight line to the Begining---- Surveyed August the twenty fifth Eighteen hundred and eight with the hereditaments and appurtenances To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appertenances to the said Jonathan Webb and his heirs forever in witness whereof Willie Blount govenor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the great seal of the said State to be affixed at Knoxville on the second day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten and of American Independence the thiry fourth By the Governor Willie Blount R Houston? secretary The within named Jonathan Webb hath title to the within described tract land Edw Scott Register of the Land office of East Tennessee I do certify this Grant is recorded in my office given ??? under my hand this 2nd day of July 1810 Edw Scott Registor of the Land office of East Tennessee [last line unreadable] [Note: See also Jonathan Webb sold the north 90 Ac to David Webb in 1811 DB 6, p. 253; See also Jonathan Webb to Zachariah & Elijah Cross Jr. DB 6, p. 392] ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
