Know all men by these presents that I Benjamin Webb of the County of Sullivan and State of 
Tennessee for and in consideration of the sum of one thousnad dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is 
hereby acknowledged at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents have granted bargained & sold 
and by by these presents do grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto James Webb 
and unto James Webb David Webb Junr and Benjamin Webb Junr (all sons of Nathan Webb) their exe
cutors Administrators and assigns the following described Negroes to wit to the only proper use & behoof 
of the said James Webb one negrro man named Bill and one Negro Woman named Phebe & to the only 
proper use of the said James Webb, David Webb Junr and Benjamin Webb Junr jointly one negro boy 
named Robbin one named John about one month old and one Negro girl named Critt all now 
and lately in the occupation of the said Benjamin To have and to hold all & singular the said Negroes 
above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said James Webb and 
James Webb David Webb Junr & Benjamin Webb Junr Jointly as above described their executors admin
istrators and assigns for ever  And the said Benjamin Webb for my self my heirs Executors Administrators 
all and singular the said Negroes unto the said James Webb & to James Webb David Webb Jr. and Benjamin Webb 
Jr. that is to James Webb Bill & Phebe and jointly to James Webb David Webb Jr. and Benjamin Webb Jr 
Robbin John & Crill their several heirs executors and administrators and assigns against me the said 
Benjamin Webb my Executors and Administratiors and all and every other person or persons whom
soever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents of all and singular said Negores  
I the said Benjamin have put the said parties of the second part in full possession at the seal
ing and delivery of these presents to them as aforesaid   In witness whereof I the said Benjamin Webb 
have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 25 th day of September in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight.  Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of

State of Tennessee First Circuit Sullivan County September Term 1828  then was the execution 
of the within Bill of Sale proven by the Oaths of James D Rhea & Christian Weaver Witnesses to the 
same Admitted to record & ordered to be registered
