Keyes Jan 15, 2005 Source: FHL Film# 972708 This Indenture made this 25 th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty eight by and between Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife of the one part and James Webb David Webb Jun and Benjamin Webb Jun. (Sons of Nathan Webb) of the other part all of Sullivan County and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife have by these presents granted bargained & sold aliened enf????? and comfirmed with the said James Webb David Webb Jr & Benjamin Webb Jr & their heirs Administrators & assigns the following described tracts of land to wit Beginning at a White Oak on a line of a former survey of said Benj thence West 126 poles to a Poplar & white oak thence S 45° W 20 poles to a pine & chesnut sapling thence S 20° W 40 poles to a White Oak & Gum thence S 70° W 20 poles to a Walnut Sapling and Parsimon on the river bank thence up the river S30° W 49 poles to two Black Oak Saplings and said river thence S 18° E 47 poles to two Hickory sapling on said river thence S87°E 90 poles to a forked Sycamore on the bank of said river thence N12°E 23 poles to a White Oak thence N45°E 95 poles to two Hickories thence along the same course 35 poles to a stake thence to the Beginning containing one hundred and thirty six acres be the same more or less also one other tract of twenty five acres be the same more or less lying adjoing to the above described tract on the south side principally and on the bank of Holston river said lands lying in Sullivan County and State aforesaid they being the same on which the said Benjamin & wfe now lives and also all the profits herediaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining the reversions and ??? of said premises and every part and parcel thereof and all the estate right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Benjamin & Mima his wife of in and to the said tract of land and part thereof To have and to hold the said bargained premises and the appurtenances and every part & parcel thereof to the said James Webb David Webb Jr. and Benjamin Webb [Webb is crossed out] & their heirs administrators & assigns to their only proper use and behoof for ever and the said Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife do for themselves their heirs &c the said tracts of land with their appurtenances and every part thereof against them the said Benjamin & Mima and their heirs and against all and every person lawfully claiming or to claim by through or under them or either of them warrant and shall for ever defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day & year above written Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of Jas D Rhea Benjamin Webb x his mark [seal] Christian Weaver Mima Webb x her mark [seal] State of Tennessee First Circuit Sullivan County September term 1828 then was the execution of the within deed proven in open Court by the Oaths of James D Rhea & Christian Weaver witnesses to the same admitted to record & ordered to be registered Wm Anderson Clerk Registered Oct the 20 th 1828 [Note: See also Tennessee Grant No. 2659 to Benjamin Webb DB 6-409] ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
