Keyes Jan 16, 2005 Source: FHL Film# 972708 Know all men by these presents that we Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents have granted bargained & sold by these presents do bargain grant & sell alien release and confirm unto John Webb (son of George) his heirs executors &c One Negro man named Job one Negro woman named Alse one Negro boy named Tim one named Rall one named Pete one named Jorden one named Martin one Negro woman named Jude and one Negro Girl named Darky all now and lately in the occupation of the said Benjamin To have and to hold all & singular the said Negroes above bargained & sold or mentioned or intended to be to the said John Webb his Executors administrators and assigns for ever And we the said Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife for ourselves our heirs executors and administrators all and singular the said Negroes unto the said John Webb his executors administrators and assigns against us the said Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife our executors and administrators and against all and every other person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents ?? all and singular said Negroes we the said Benjamin & Mima his wife have put the said John Webb in full possession at the sealing and delivery of these presents unto him the said John Webb as aforesaid In witness whereof we the said Benjamin Webb and Mima his wife have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this 25 th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight Signed sealed & delivered in presense of Jas D Rhea Christian Weaver Benjamin Webb x his mark (seal) Mima Webb x her mark (seal) State of Tennessee First Circuit Sullivan County September Term 1828 then was the execution of the within Bill of Sale proven in open Court by the Oaths of James D Rhea and Christian Weaver witnesses to the same admitted to record and ordered to be Registered Registered Oct the 21st 1828 Wm Anderson Clerk ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
