He was born Dec, 12, 1762. He lived in Stafford County when he enlisted in 1779. He states that his father and mother moved from Virvinia to Sullivan County, Tenn., about 1806 or 1807 and that they both died. Francis Hawkins died in Sullivan County. Feb. 21, 1840. His wife, Sarah Hawley, was born April 11, 1762, and died Jan. 26, 1844. The names of their children are on the original Family Bible page as follows: James, born 1781; Ansey, born 1783; Francis Hodgeman (?) 1785; William, born 1787; Millenda, born 1789; Sanford Rodney, born 1791; William Augustus, born 1794; John Barbin, born 1796; Thomas Carroll, born 1798; Matilda, born 1801, married John Foust; Addison, born 1803; and Percy (a daughter) born 1805, married ____ Ford.
