SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN - NEWSPAPERS - Kingsport Times, 20 Jun 1919, pg1 ----¤¤¤---- Work on the Kingsport Cemetery, on which a large force of men are now employed at grading, is nearing completion. Trees and shrubs will be let out soon and when this work is finished Kingsport is expected to have one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the South. The grounds which contain 50 acres, are located just north of the city on the old Gate City road. The cemetery was laid out by Dr. John Nolen, the town-planner who laid out the city of Kingsport. The plans drawn by Mr. Nolen have been followed closely in laying the plots, foot-paths, and driveways, which will be well taken care of ad that as the cemetery grows older it will become more beautiful.
