Carr-, who lives two miles east of Kingsport near the C. C. & O. tunnel, was shot through the thigh last night in an altercation between himself and Charles Mountey, whose life it was shown in court this afternoon before Judge E. D. Carr, witnesses testified, sprang from behind some bushes with a stone in his hand and swore at Mountey and his young son when the shot which wounded Carr was fired. According to the testimony the trouble between the two families has been of long duration and, it was testified, Carr had threatened Mountey before to such an extent that a writ requiring him to keep the peace was issued against him. Mountey was defended by Dodson and Ferguson, while T. R. Bandy conducted the prosecution.
