Crops are Looking fine, and prospects are good for the coming harvest. Quite a number from this place attended the Children's Day service at Vermont Sunday. T.J. Norman has been indisposed for the past week. J.H. Roller, of Fordtown, who, has employment, in the big dye plant, at Kingsport, spent Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ketron and family of this place. Misses Maud and Olline Johnson of Wayland, Va., and Miss Mary Johnson of Arcadia, were recent guests of Ocia Harkleroad of this place. Miss Bernice -Howell entertained a few friends very pleasantly Monday night. W.H, Dickson and family of Kings port were the guests of his brother N.M. Dickson, and family of this place Sunday. G. R. Norman spent Sunday with friends at Wayland, Va. W. D. Hicks of Kingsport, was here Tuesday of last week. Lloyd Lee Wallace of Shady Lawn was the pleasant guest of Jno. White at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Harkleroad Tuesday of last week. Earnest Ellis, who is employed here by the Cumberland Telephone Co., is real sick at this writing. J.M. Dobyns was inspecting the street grading on Brad Street Saturday. Mr. Hurst is working diligently to make the Fourth in Kingsport a success.
