DEATH OF REV. ANDERSON, THE "FIGHTING PARSON" QUINCY, Mass., May 21,- The Rev. Edward Anderson, known in Grand Army of the Republic circles as the "fighting parson," died tonight at the age of 72 years. He was an associate of Judge Brown and at the outbreak of the civil war enlisted as private, rising to the rank of colonel. BLOUNTVILLE NEWS NOTES Blountville, Tenn., May 20.- W. H. Farthing returned home Thursday. after attending the East Tennessee farmers' convention at Knoxville. Little Miss Helen Gate is spending some time as the guest of Miss Hazel Barnes at Cantrell. Misses Jamie Parrott and Jean Massengill were shopping in Bristol one day this week. Circuit court convenes at this place next week. Rev. T. L. Cate and family and Miss Sallie Milsap are attending the Southern Baptist convention this week at Asheville, N. C. Dr. H. A. Parrott is visiting his son, J. H. Parrott, of Bristol. Master Hal H. Phillips is visiting relatives in Rogersville. Paul Gate it; spending several days with his friend, Millard Mauk, at Bluff City. C. J. Phillips and family have moved to their new home on Main street. Miss Lula Cole is the week end guest of her sister, Ella Kate. Mrs. J. E. Naff, who has been spending some time in Washington City, is expected home soon. CEDAR GROVE. This letter received too late for last week's issue. Mr. Bruce Anderson was in town Saturday evening. Mrs. Minnie Cash and little daughter, Gerie, were guests of Mrs. S. Poole the past week. Erma Dickson spent Saturday and Sunday with her aunt, Mrs. Steadman. Mrs. Walter Oliver and Miss Margarette Oliver were in town Saturday. Clyde Groseclose was at Arcadia, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. King have moved into their elegant residence on Wanola avenue. Rev. J. C. Kinser preached an interesting sermon at Bloomingdale Sunday. Messrs. Joe, Oscar and Winifred Ketron came to town Sunday evening.
