Williams and daughter, Mary Ellen, are spending two weeks with relatives at Morristown, "Knoxville and Etowah. Mrs. John H. Barnes, of Marietta, Ga., is expected to join her husband and son, John, Jr.. at Kingsport soon. Mr. Barnes is the new manager of the. Kingsport Hosiery Mills. Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Fowles entertained at their summer camp near the reservoir last Friday "a party of Kingsport young people who made the trip from the city to Bays Mountain on horseback. They had supper on top the mountain and later went boating in the lake. Those who made the trip were: Misses Adelia Sheehan, Gretchen Cook, Mary Brown and Frances Harris. Messrs. A. A. Owens, Jr., Scott Roller and Brinkley Smith. Mrs. W. C. Schinkal and children will leave Sunday for the North, where they expect to spend the Summer months. Sergt. Marion S. Short, of Co. L, 328th Infantry, 82nd Division, who participated with his regiment in the Battles of the Argonne and St. Mihiel, and his brother, Silas G., of the Air Service, have been discharged from the service and are again at their home near Kingsport. Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Fowles entertained number of Kingsport people last week with a horseback drive to the reservoir on Bay's Mountain, Those in the party included Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Heasel, Mrs. R. Y. Grant Mrs. Russell, Mrs. R. O. Merrill, Mrs. A. H. Maher, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. White, Miss Wilder, Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Kelsey and A. I. Brady. The infant of Mrs. Stuart Moore is reported as very ill. The T. C. G. Club entertained last Saturday night with a dance at the Roller Club. Miss Fannie Eversold, of Rural Retreat, Va., and Mrs. Jackson, of Ivanhoe, have been visiting Mrs. W C. Stone. J. C. Stone and son, Charles, visited relatives in Pulaski last week. City Manager William has been attending the at Johnson City. Dr. Hardin W. Reynolds, of Bristol, visited Kingsport Wednesday. R. P. Fuller made a business trip to Norton, Va., Monday Misses Blanche Cook and Lucy Edwards, who were graduated Tuesday from the East Tennessee Normal School at Johnson City, have returned to their homes at Kingsport. W. J. Hunter is out of town this week on business. F. M. Kelly and William Russell Gilmer visited Bristol Tuesday. John H. Caldwell, Col. S. L. King and Jos. A. Caldwell, of Bristol, accompanied Chancellor Hal H. Haynes at Kingsport -Wednesday. BLOOMINGDALE Bloomingdale, Tenn., June 5. Quite a number from this place attended the annual decoration at Reedy Creek cemetery last Saturday. Two excellent sermons were delivered by Rev. F. D. Wasson, pastor of the Bloomingdale church and Rev. King, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Kingsport. Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Dickson and sister attended the Decoration at Emory Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hannum and daughters, Misses Frankie and Mavis, and Misses Vesta English and Sidney Langford and G. C. Crabtree, of Bristol, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. Harkleroad last Sunday. Samuel Crussell, of Reedy Greek, was the guests of friends here Sunday. Rev. F. D. Watson left Monday for Fordtown where he is the guest of Matt Oler. The Centenary Drive which has been on here since May 18th has gone over the top at Bloomingdale. George Wexler, of Pactolus, was the week-end guest of his wife. Rev. A. C. Ketron and family, of Telford, are. spending this week with relatives here. HORSE CREEK Horse Creek, June 5. Mrs. T. L. Childress who has been on the sick list, is improving. Miss Viola Fish and brother, Simon, attended the Sunday School Convention at Rock Springs Friday. Little Leroy Light has whooping cough. Geo. E. Pierce went to Kingsport Saturday. Mrs. D. C. Pierce and daughter, Winifred, were visiting her mother last week. Mr. and Mrs. James Light, and Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Light were shopping in Kingsport Saturday. Misses Leola Fulkerson, Alice Light, Wexler Harkleroad and Guy Pierce attended a singing convention near Greenville Saturday. Miss Gladys Bachman was at Rock Springs Friday. Miss Bess Light spent Sunday with her uncle, R. P. Depew, as Depew's chapel Joe Ledford, of Kentucky, spent a few days with his parents at this place. Mrs. Fannie Callahan was shopping in Kingsport last week. Prvt. John Owens has received his discharge from the army, and is at home with his parents. JOHNSON, CITY, TENN. Johnson City, Tenn., June 6. - Mrs. Poarch has returned home after a two weeks, visit with her mother, Mrs. John Sharp, at Knoxville. Mrs. Guy Cooper spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. J. W. Lillie, at Piney Flats. Miss Sallie Dickson spent Sunday with her mother at Gray. Mrs., N. H. Dickson spent part of last week at Knoxville. Miss Myrtle Easley, of Bristol, spent the week-end here with friends. Mrs. W. A. Harbour was calling on Mrs. G. S. Cooper Sunday afternoon. Mrs. William Devault was the guest Sunday of her daughter, Mrs. W. B. Brazwell. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Galloway, of Bostic, N. C., are visiting friends here. Miss Florence Sitton has returned home for the summer from Knoxville, where she has been teaching school. T. B. Anderson and George Gaines, of Bloomingdale, were in the city last week. J. G. Edgeman, of Chestnut Ridge, was visiting here last week. G. C. Dickson and sister, Miss Effie, attended the funeral of Mrs. Atkins Saturday at King Springs.
