Allison Carolyn A. Silcox Allison, 53, a former resident of Bristol Caverns Highway, Bristol Tennessee, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. She was born Jan. 1, 1950, and has made her home in the Bristol area all of her life. Carolyn was the vice-president and valedictorian of her 1968 senior class at Holston Valley High School. She was an employee of Sherwin-Williams Co. and a member of West Hills Christian Church. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Jake Silcox; and her grandparents, Tandy and Annie Silcox and Charlie and Blanche Frye. Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Phillips and her husband Steven, Monica Allison and her fiancÈ, Clint Grubb, and Andrea Allison; grandson, Austin; her mother, Elsie Silcox; sisters, Phyllis and Shelia Silcox; brothers, Mark and Jeff Silcox; niece, Brianna; nephews, Dustin, Cody, Damian and Jordan; and special friends, Linda Booher and Sharon Hutchinson. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Gary Knapp and Howard Taylor officiating. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Florence Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Hensley, Johnny Hutchinson, John Davis, Harry Whisnant, Maurice Allison, Justin Oliver, Joe Shipley and Gary Barnett. Honorary pallbearers are members of West Hills Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to WHCC-John Collins Fund, 116 Elm St., Bristol, TN 38620 A procession of family and friends will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday going to the cemetery.
