Evelyn T. Brooks 





    Evelyn Triplett Brooks, 70, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, July 22, 

2007, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. 





    A native of Sullivan County, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and 

Virgie Jackson Triplett. 





    Ms. Brooks was a very special and unforgettable person and was very strong 

in her Christian faith. She was a very loving person, who enjoyed singing and 

being around people. 





    Survivors include her adopted family and caregivers, Faye and George 

Shrader and their family of Elizabethton, and a special cousin, W.D. Goforth 

of Dandridge. Several additional cousins also survive. 





    A graveside service for Ms. Brooks will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, 

July 25, at Sulphur Springs Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Clate Briggs 

officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet 

at the cemetery at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday. Active pallbearers will be selected 

from family and friends. Online condolences may be sent to the family by
