Barker Charles H. Barker, 69, of 1921 Edens Ridge Road died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Sunbridge-Hillside Manor Health Care. Mr. Barker was born in Sullivan County March 18, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Haynes Barker and Joseph Orville Barker. He retired from Tennessee Eastman Co. in 1996, after 42 years of service. He was involved in the following organizations: Kingsport Shrine Club, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, York Rite, Kinsport Commandry No. 33, Knights Templar, Lynn Bachman Chapter No. 195 Royal Arch Masons, Kingsport Lodge No. 688 Free and Accepted Masons, Jericho Temple, Royal Order of the Jesters, Kachina Club, and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wfe, Betty B. Barker of the home; son and daughter-in- law, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Barker; daughters and son-in-laws, Lynette Barker and Martha and Tom Phillips; four grandchildren; as well as four sisters: Delores Hagy of Bristol Virginia, Jeanette Patterson of Johnson City, Patsy Struder of Knoxville and Carrol LaShorne of Fort Pierce, Fla. The family will be receiving friends any time at the home. Memorial contributions may be made to "Shrine Hospital" c/o Shriners- Jericho Temple, 1100 Sam Walton Drive, Kingsport.
