Bowman Evelyn Catherine Bowman, 85, of 1119 West Cedar St., Bristol, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at the Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn, Mich. Mrs. Bowman was a native and lifelong resident of the Bristol area and a member of the Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Statzer. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carol Bowman of Church Hill, Tenn.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Charlie Chase of South Gate, Mich., Pam and Kenneth Birchfield of Bristol Virginia and Karen and Ronnie Heaton of Hampton,Va.; two brothers, Herman Worley of Bristol Virginia and Ray Worley of Lincoln Park, Mich.; one sister, Lois Simcox of Bristol Virginia; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the following grandsons, Larry Bryan of Taylor, Mich., Mark Bryan, U.S. Army Fort Campbell, Ky., Don Bryan of California, Bill Birchfield of Bristol Virginia and Thomas Heaton and Jeremy Heaton, both of Hampton, Va.
