Mr. Boy was a native of Bristol Tennessee and had spent several years in Chicago and Edison, N.J., and moved back to Bristol in 1988. He worked for Western Electric and retired from AT&T. He was active in the Boy Scouts and had served as scout master in Edison. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran where he served with the 418 Night Fighter Squadron. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Frances Boy; and a brother, Joseph Boy of Knoxville. He was a member of the Reynolds Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Steven Boy of Edison and Jeffrey Boy of Schenectady, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tony Collins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in the Shelby Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. E-mail condolences may be sent to the family at akardfh@peercom.net.
