Alfreda was born on Oct. 23, 1923, in Sullivan County, Tenn., and was the daughter of the late George Samuel Lee Selby and Ollie V. Rogers. She was the widow of Harry F. Collins. Alfreda loved to cook, garden, shop and take trips. She was a Pink Lady at Bristol Memorial Hospital for many years. Alfreda also belonged to the Blountville 419 Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Blountville Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Alfreda is survived by her son, H. David Collins of Blountville; and two daughters: Hannah Alvis of Blountville; and Rebekah Pearson of Springfield. Alfreda had five grandsons; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Everett officiating. Entombment service will follow in the East Lawn Mausoleum. A funeral service was held in Springfield on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at 7:30 p.m., at the Grace Presbyterian Church.
