Davidson Albert C. "Red" Davidson, 80, of 405 Valley View Drive, Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Wellmont Hospice House. He was born Aug. 25, 1922, a son of the late Joseph R. and Cordelia Fleenor Davidson. Mr. Davidson was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with the 101st Air Borne Division, retired with 31 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service and after his retirement he had worked at Food City on Euclid Avenue. Mr. Davidson was a member of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church where he had served as deacon and Sunday School teacher for several years. He last taught the A.C. Davidson Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret T. Hickman Davidson; daughter Theresa Jones and her husband Jim; son Albert C. "Al" Davidson Jr. and his wife Alfreda; one beloved granddaughter, Michelle Jones; special nephew, George Ison; brother, J.W. Davidson and his wife Alam Ruth; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Jones and Rev. Sam Haynes officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Glenwood Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975. Honorary pallbearers are members of the A.C. Davidson Sunday School Class, the deacon body of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church and James Blevins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Euclid Avenue Baptist Church, 900 Euclid Ave., Bristol, VA. E-mail condolences may be sent at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
