Farmer Naomi Irene Farmer, 83, passed away Dec. 9, 2002, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born in Russell County to the late Rev. James Robert and Belvia Johnson Hubbard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Robert Hubbard Jr. She was a member of Fellowship Chapel. Survivors include her husband, Leonard J. Farmer of Bristol; two daughters, Violetta (Vi) Phillips and husband Frank of Bristol and Delores Garrison and husband J.D. of Cape Coral, Fla.; one son, Marvin Farmer and wife Janet of Bristol; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Mildred) Combs of Bristol and Mrs. Bill (Evelyn) Clark of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister-in-law, Mrs. James Robert (Juanita) Hubbard Jr. of Stockbridge, Ga.; five grandchildren, Renee' Dougherty, Mike Farmer, Kevin Farmer, David Garrison and Sarah Francis; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m.Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester MacKinnon and Rev. Scott Price officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 4205 Hillsboro Road, Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215. The family would like to express their appreciattion to Rev. Scott Price and Rev. Lester MacKinnon of Fellowship Chapel, Dr. Bob Jones of Euclid Avenue Baptist Church, Rev. Emmit Wilson of Beech Grove United Methodist Church, the doctors at Sapling Grove and the doctors, nurses and staff of Bristol Regional Medical Center.
