Freeman, 78, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Indian Path Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of the Kingsport area and was retired from the Sullivan County School System. Mrs. Freeman was an active member of Rock Springs United Methodist Church. Her husband, Fieldon Freeman preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Madolyn and Jim Norton, Bristol Virginia; three grandchildren, Whitney Norton, Arlington, Va.,. Josh Norton and Justin Norton, both of Bristol Virginia; two brothers, Steve Carroll and wife, Jenelle, Blountville, Bayard Carroll, Kingsport; a sister-in-law, Lula Freeman, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rock Springs Untied Methodist Church. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Dr. Scott Robertson-Gouge officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bert Carter, Jim Hite, Jeff Carr, Wes Hardin, Craig Carroll and Mike Freeman. Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Springs United Methodist Church, 227 Church View Drive, Kingsport, TN 36664 or Sullivan County EMS, 3193 Highway 126, Blountville, TN 37617.
