He was born in Sullivan County to the late James Michael and Nannie Hodge Fritts. Mr. Fritts had lived all of his life in the Bristol area, was a truck driver working for Edmond Brothers Supply Company for 42 years. He attended the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Fritts was preceded in death by three sisters, Susie Johnson, Lucy Shaver and Roxie Snider. Mr. Fritts is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edna Oliver Fritts of Bristol Tennessee; one daughter, Pat Newman and husband Ralph of Bristol Tennessee; three brothers, Charlie Fritts, Joe Fritts and Bobby Fritts; two sisters, Mary Wilson of Blountville and Frances Rhymer of Bristol Tennessee; two grandchildren, Tracey Walsh and husband David, and Jason Newman and wife Heather; two great-grandchildren, Emilee Walsh and Cody Walsh; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 10, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Jack Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Doug Green, Dr. John Sherrill, Mr. Warren Crockett, Melvin and all the employees of Edmond Brothers Supply Company. A special thanks to the outpatient and inpatient Dialysis staff at Bristol Regional Medical Center, and to the staff of 3 West at Bristol Regional Medical Center, with special thanks to Tara. Special thanks to a close friend, Stan Roberts. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Weaver Funeral Home or any time at the home of Pat Newman, 1244 Bristol Caverns Highway.
