Hawthorne Lucille R. Hawthorne, 85, of 188 Cedarbrook Circle, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at NHC of Bristol, Va. She had lived most of her life in the Sullivan County area and had also lived in the Talladega, Ala., area. She was a member of Weaver Union Church. She was a former employee of Jacob Creek Job Corps and Feacher Manufacturing. Survivors include daughters, Judy Addison and husband, Jimmy, Pat Vance and husband, Charles and Betsy Davis and husband, Johnny; son, Edward C. Bishop, Jr. and wife, Irene; sister, Katie Hicks; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Hawthorne; and daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and James Franklin Wright. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William D. Hyers and the Rev. Don R. Merryman officiating. Interment will be private. Pallbearers include: Randy Mains, Danny Curtis, Roger Trinkle, Richard Trinkle, Jimmy Hicks, J.D. Davis and Tim Strouth. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Trinkle. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at NHC and especially to the 2nd floor staff for the special care of our mother and grandmother.
