Kerr NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Mrs. Ruth Miller Readling Kerr died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Loris Extended Care, Loris, S.C. She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Concord, N.C., a daughter of the late Joseph U. and Alice Miller Readling. She and her family made their home in the Bristol area for 33 years before she and her husband moved to North Myrtle Beach in 2000 to live with her daughter Karen and her family. Mrs. Kerr spent most of her life being a loving pastor's wife and a mother to her children. And she did secretarial/bookkeeping work. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Dewey W. Kerr of North Myrtle Beach; a son, Joseph C. Kerr and his wife, Pamela, of Bristol Virginia; two daughters, Karen K. Hart and her husband, Steve, of North Myrtle Beach and Cheryl K. Inscore and her husband, Paul, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; and two brothers, Ronald Readling and wife, Brenda, of Kannapolis, N.C., and Donald Readling and wife, Brenda, of Stanfield, N.C. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Shawn K. Kerr and wife, Megan Nicole, Meredith L. Hart, Rachel K. Kerr and Joshua N. Inscore. Funeral services will be Monday at 7 p.m. in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Stancil officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to the service at Akard Funeral Home. Those desiring may make memorials to the various funds of First Baptist Church, Bristol, Va., The National Alzheimer's Foundation or the charity of your choice.
